This little guy was fun to make! I’ve been watching the Classic Doctor Who episodes this year, and I thought I might do something fun for the 50th anniversary and make each of the Doctors into owls. So here’s the first Doctor, who was played by good ol’ William Hartnell!
I left this owl in black and white since the whole 1st Doctor era was also in black and white. I tried to incorporate as many elements of the Doctor's costume into the owl while still making it look fairy natural. His messy western bow tie is now a vague design on his chest, his white shirt is now a white belly, plaid pants are now speckled feathers, black shoes = black feet, suit coat = short black wings and black back, etc. I gave him the hair that kind of resembles what some fluffy owls look like, as well as “ears” with lines going down to the beak, because in my world the 1st Doctor’s expressive (if not always grumpy-looking) eyebrows are a defining feature.
So… yeah! Sorry about the lengthy description, but I personally was amused with incorporating costume pieces into feathers. XD[link]
Inspired by this picture, though I took a bit of a different route when it came to the design.
Made with Super Sculpey and acrylic paints.
(It looks a lot better in real life!)
