Legacy of Kain - Raziel

A little break from OCT stuff. I'm going through a phase where I'm playing a bunch of really old games, and the biggest one right now is the Legacy of Kain series, specifically Soul Reaver. I watched my mom ( PickledHag ) play this game 14 some-odd years ago, which was always such a fun time for us. Multiple times tried to play it myself over the years, but I always got stuck right before Melchiah and became too frustrated to continue. But I dug up some of my mom's old cheat/walkthrough books that she had, and I finally figured out how to continue (it was a rather stupidly simple solution too)!

I've always had a love for vampires and cool wings and stuff, so Raziel when he was a vampire always FASCINATED me. He was so cool! As a kid watching my mom play I always got SO MAD when Kain ripped his wings to shreds (I still do get upset actually). But then becoming a super-cool wasted away jawless wraith-like soul-eating vampire... dang that was cool. His hands and feet always amused me too, I must admit. The way his feet click on the floor always made me giggle as a child. Ah, good times... But I digress.

So here's my contribution to the Legacy of Kain series that I so fondly grew up with. Man, would I love to see these games remastered. I really liked how Raziel, though driven by revenge, wasn't totally consumed by it. He always kept a pretty level head, and was very intelligent when dealing with going up against all his brothers and creator. He's so cool.

Tried doing something without lineart... it's hard guys. But it proffered a rather interesting look. Not sure if I'll officially adopt this style, but when I do more detailed works like this you may see it a time or two more in the future. Also, sorry for the kinda tacky gradient. No background seemed too empty, and I don't have the willpower or skill to do an actual background. So I just grabbed the game's signature colors and slapped them on there... hope it's not too sloppy. Otherwise, I'm INCREDIBLY pleased with how this turned out. I flippin' love Raziel.
